Slowmotion: HFR mode with the RX10IV (updated)
Slowing down or speeding up of time has always been something magical and for a long time, it was only available in expensive cameras. Or something tourists like to experiment with their health in Amsterdam, but I’m told that’s more being like totally mellow man like time doesn’t matter and nobody records anything.

Adobe has just released an update to camera raw so now it is possible to open the RX10IV raw files. Previously it was only AuroraHDR 2018 that would read them, but this did give me strange lens fault: edges of the sensor and all that unwanted stuff. The first shots in this little gallery are done with Aurora HDR 2018, the second part is done with Adobe camera raw, they are extremely over-processed just to see what happens.

Image gallery of the very first shots I took with the RX10IV. No raw conversion so these are mostly straight out of the camera with the occasional crop ad little tweak. Also included are 100% crops to show the noise pattern and bokeh.
RX10 IV: Set phase detection on stun
Years ago I bought the original RX100, replacing the Lumix LX3, a very nice little camera but it had terrible video. Back then the RX100 was still the great undiscovered ‘take anywhere’ camera. Perfect for hiking up a mountain as you can see from this picture on the left. Not the prettiest colors in the world, but excellent dynamic range, which is why it makes for a great BW shot.
